Dtox Spa in Los Angeles is a recent treasure find that Style Station discovered. I met owner and entrepreneur Austin while attending the Affluent Attaché party, who invited me to have a girls spa-day and check out the 6,000 sq ft hidden gem in Los Feliz.
I invited Ally, Style Station team member to join me and experience a day of luxury. We were treated like VIP’s with a long list of services that gave us head-to-toe pampering. I first began with a salt scrub. The coarse but invigorating mixture exfoliates the top three layers of skin giving you a fresh, soft, and glowing texture. Jeff, my expert, brushed the salt in a circular upward motion to get blood flowing and brighten my wintery dry skin. Ally went with Jeannette Martinez who customized a facial to fit all of her skin concerns. A vitamin-C peel with peptides was used to help with pigmentation and leave the her skin glowing. Ally and I are both well experienced in the LA skin care treatments and she says hands down this was the best facial she has ever had. Jeannette started out by cleansing her skin with a Clarisonic massage and steaming her face. She then applied a pineapple enzyme that smelled incredible and tingled slightly. After extractions, a Vitamin-C mask was applied and left on her face for several minutes, while Jeannette massaged her neck, arms, and hands. This mask stung- in the best way. Her skin is usually very sensitive and looks pink or blotchy after facials, so she was pleased to see her skin was hydrated, glowing, tight, and not irritated at all.
After, we both relaxed in the beautiful quiet room with a golden Buddha and sounds of the relaxing waterfall. We lounged with mint tea and fashion periodicals. Next was our couples massage (or buddy treatments). We felt it would be fun to have our wrap and massage together in the same room. The beautiful serene candle-lit room had 2 tables and 2 experts working on us for almost 2 hours! Ally fell asleep it was so relaxing. I was given the best massage I can remember. I never had to explain any of my stress points. Jeff was able to find them and work through my tension at a perfect pressure. I think the hot stones were a favorite of mine. I mention this because anyone who likes massages have all had the occasional massage where the therapist just can’t understand your needs and you lye there just hoping it will get better or wanting it to be over. Not at Dtox. I only have positive things to say about this spa. After the massages, we went straight into a body wrap where we were covered in nutrient oils to replenish our exfoliated skin. As our bodies heated up we received an oil scalp massage. This took us into the next level of relaxation and made our skin glow.
We didn’t want to leave and hung around a bit longer to steam and sauna. It was there we met freelance photographer — who also said she had one of the best facials she had ever had. This local neighborhood spa is equal in service capabilities with any of the larger facilities in LA. The prices make Dtox Day Spa a total value. When I go back I definitely want to try the HydraFacial. For me, someone who has struggled with skin issues, I am looking for anything anti-aging and hydrating to the skin. It’s good to know that you have the option of the relaxing pampering facial or the more medical type add-ons to target any of your skin needs.
Having a start-up business can be demanding and this was the perfect holiday break that we were able to call a work perk!
