At the 2018 Golden Globes, Kendall Jenner caught everyone’s eye when she walked the red carpet in her fabulous black dress by Giambattista Valli. She attended the event to stand in solidarity with the feminist “Time’s Up” movement. Unfortunately, it wasn’t just her dress that demanded attention. Some social media users called out the supermodel for her flawed skin. Having revealed even back in 2015 that she struggled with acne a lot in her teens, Kendall has learned over the years how to feel confident regardless: “Where it really impacted me was how self-conscious I became about it. It completely ruined my self esteem. I wouldn’t even look at people when I talked to them.” Kendall ignored the comments from her haters and instead posted an inspiring response to one of her fans. The Twitter user mentioned the visible acne on Kendall’s cheeks, but made sure to include that she looked beautiful regardless. The fan wrote, “Ok but @KendallJenner showing up and strutting her acne while looking like a gorgeous star is what every girl needs to understand.” Kendall replied with a very positive message saying, “never let that sh*t [sic] stop you! 😎✨” Style Station could not agree more with these tweets. Acne should never stop you from doing what you want to do. It’s something everyone has dealt with at some point in their life. You just have to remember to #bethebestyou!
But not everyone has Kendall’s positive attitude towards frustrating acne— and we are here to help! As we’ve now seen, celebrities are humans too and need amazing skincare just like the rest of us. That’s where Shani Darden comes in! She is the incredible skincare guru for countless celebrities including Chrissy Teigen, Jessica Alba, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Her product, Retinol Reform, is loved by these celebs and countless others. Everyone knows that retinol can transform your skin by increasing cell turnover which keeps your pores clean, reduces fine lines, and helps lighten hyper-pigmentation. But Shani’s product is safe for first-time retinol users and is super gentle on your skin. She recommends using it a couple times a week at night and then slowly increasing to every night while your skin adjusts. Style Station founder & CEO Melissa Meister has been going to Shani for many years, even before she became the go-to celebrity skin expert!
If supermodel Kendall Jenner, someone who is constantly in front of the camera, can feel gorgeous with acne— so can you! BUT, if you want to improve your skin, Shani Darden is our best tip.
