Getting ready for the Emmy’s isn’t an easy feat for anyone, but even more more challenging for a mother of two. Finding the time to get the perfect dress, accessories, and styled with the right hair and make-up is a ton of work!
First I went to several PR houses and hand selected 20 dresses I thought best fit Christy’s personality and style. Next Christy and I had a fitting where she tried on every gown. I often like to have my clients do this as sometimes clothes have hangar appeal and not body appeal, and often we can love the piece we never thought was for us until we try it on.
Picking which dress to go with was not easy. We narrowed it down to 4 dresses. The red sequin dress was simply hot and sexy on Christy. A for sure knock-out and eye-catcher. The yellow parrot dress was so unique and interesting with its pattern. It was young and royal at the same time. As gorgeous as it was, wearing this dress would take some physical effort!! The velvet dress was sleek and fashionable. You are going to be seeing a lot of velvet this Fall/Winter!
However, the Ieena for MacDougal black and gold gown was the winner. It had all of the elements needed to make Christy’s night a sensation. She looked and felt amazing. The gold metallic mesh and belt details kept her look fresh and current and she was comfortable.
On Emmy day, stylemaker, Cherie Combs and I came to Christy’s house to give her the ultimate style experience. Cherie had several inspiration looks of hair and make-up to review with Christy and make sure that her styles were current and fit Christy’s look. It is so important to make sure that you wear the look and that the look doesn’t wear you – which is why at the Style Station we have a interpersonal connection with each client and design specifically for you. No two people are the same and therefore no two processes are the same.
Cherie applied her favorite Clarins double serum before using Makeup Forever Ultra HD foundation. Chanel Soliel Tan gave Christy the perfect glow to her skin with Urban Decay shadow; dirtysweet and whiskey, and an Artist rouge M100 lip. For Hair it was all about the Living proof products that Cherie is in love with. She styled Christy into a fun pony first by blow-drying her and adding the Living Proof Dry Volume Blast, then using the Living Proof multitasking styler. Once the look was perfected Cherie set Christy’s hair with Aveda’s air control spray.
After hair and makeup I put Christy into her complete look and we even helped a little with Jeff. We needed to make sure hubby looked good standing to his stunning wife and who just happened to be nominated for an Emmy!! You too can find Christy on Blackish along w Jeff!
