From the clothes to the hair, this Fall’s fashion season is all about texture. Check out the modern waves on this chunky blunt bob featured at one of New York Fashion Week’s FW16 runway shows.
Lead hair stylist Michael Forrey opted for a simple DIY foil roller. This technique is as easy to do at home as it is backstage. It works on most hair types and achieves a fun tousled look depending on how many hand rolled foil twigs are twisted. If you want to try this trend on your own, divide hair into two small sections on either side of the head, and simply braid into foils.
Next, flat iron the hair. The foil is an extension of your flat iron and really helps to heat set the wave. Let cool before removing foils and brush to give added texture. Finish the look with some sea salt spray to make those waves last.
Style Station recommends Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray along with Prive Finishing Texture Spray for best results.
