If you’re looking for a new twist on a classic, check the Vintage Twin. Their popup in Soho stocks the essentials, on-trend edits, and all the funky fashion you never knew you needed. Basic concept: upcycled one of a kind vintage fashion and hand made jewelry. Old clothes transformed to fit downtown cool girl sensibilities.

The brand was started by sisters Samantha and Morgan Elias while they were nineteen. As college students in Michigan, they opened up shop on campus. In the next stage, the Vintage Twin was online only. Now, there are two locations in downtown Manhattan. Among the perfectly organized racks you’ll find old shirts made into super chic dresses, 80s patterned sweaters branded with I woke up like this, and velvet skirts (perfect just the way they are). Make sure to check out the JEANius bar at the Soho popup. They have a pair for every style, and employees are there to help should sifting through the many brands and cuts prove difficult.

The Vintage Twin is focused on environmentally responsible style, and has a pretty unique process as far as where they get their merchandise. Their website breaks it down to three steps. Hand Picked. Reworked. TVT design. So this brand is not only super cool, but also super sustainable. Most of the items are true vintage—at least twenty years old. TVT also donates 10% of all profits to charity.

The Vintage Twin has become a celeb favorite, counting Bella Hadid and Alexa Chung as fans. Right now the brand is online and in New York City only. Looking to the future, the possibilities are endless. Socially conscious fashion is having a moment. And whether you’re looking for a vintage band tee or hand-picked denim, The Vintage Twin has got you covered.
